Santa brought us cookies last night
Believe it or not but Santa Claus has no longer brings gifts only to our homes. This year he leaves presents in our offices as well. The reason for us saying this is because of what we have found this morning in our kitchen. Out of nowhere there they are – two big boxes of Christmas cookies on the table. I don’t know what the difference between these and normal ones is but they taste good as well.
Our colleagues believe that he sneaked out last night when we were celebrating in The Office. The other possibility is that somebody has put them there but don’t want to admit it.
Anyway, our team really wanted to found out if it was Santa or not, so we wanted to make an investigation and try to find him. So we went online and try to find him no matter how hard it may seem. Now we are sharing with you the best ways to connect with Santa online:
We were quite surprised to see that Santa has a Twitter account @santaclaus where more than 865 people are following him. But he’s not a really active at this social network. Probably the preparation of Christmas takes a lot of him time this year.
Other way to contact him is via his personal Facebook Fan page (we couldn’t find a personal profile) with more than 62 000 fans. Unfortunately, he’s e-mail is not included there so you can only hope that he’s going to read your post on the wall.
We still don’t have an answer from him but we are pretty sure soon enough he’s going to show up again and then…we’ll be ready to catch him.————————————————————————————————————–

Santa… Facebook?
This post is not recommended for persons under 13 years, and everyone else who believes in the existence of Santa Claus!
There is no way that you haven’t noticed an interesting trend on your Facebook wall for the last few weeks. Your friends are rushing to wish “real” gifts through online applications of this or that commercial brand. They send you invitations for virtual Facebook gifts that you can earn in fact! If you’ve joined the Facebook Christmas rush, you’re probably already collecting Christmas socks from the game of a travel agency, hoping to win a trip to an exotic destination OR carefully selecting your three Christmas wishes from one of the many shopping malls in the city and … these are just some of the most popular Facebook applications for this Christmas offering you real prizes.
Therefore, we can boldly say that Facebook is becoming the virtual Santa Claus. If before you’ve been writing letters to the old white-bearded man that you “accidentally” left in the sight of your friends and loved ones from which you expect Christmas surprises, now you can easily use the Facebook platform to wish a new anatomic mattress, a New Year’s trip or a watch of your favorite brand and your desire will not remain hidden for any of your friends in the social network.
So if you are not lucky enough to be among the winners of the branded Facebook games, you have at least the chance to hint the “right person” about the perfect gift for you. ![]()
Santa Claus or Santa Facebook – you choose your broker for Christmas wishes!
But let’s look more in detail these applications. No need to think too much to discover that the Facebook Christmas rush is very similar to a New Year Sale (because we all, the recognized shopping maniacs, know that the real sales are after New Year, rather than after Christmas!?). Here are three obvious similarities:
- The goal – promoting the brand. If the primary purpose of actual commercial sales is to increase the turnover for a short term, and on Facebook it comes to a rapid-fire recruitment of new fans for the fan page, then in both cases, ultimately, it comes to promoting the brand.
- The audience – 90% of the participants in these applications are women. We’re not surprised – not by accident the other name of sales in the mall is “female pentathlon” …
Example: After a desperate request to my husband to participate in such an application in order to have a better chance to win that fabulous Small Kitchen Appliance, his unequivocal answer was “I don’t participate in such women’s games!” So brands and advertisers should be aware – your target in most cases is women! Unless, of course, you offer as a reward tickets for a football game or new winter tires … - The approach – word-of-mouth (in offline reality) or word-of-mouse (on the web) – the effect is equally satisfactory for the trader. The branded Facebook applications have a compulsory scheme – or you invite a number of friends in the game to have the chance to win, or your Christmas wish will necessarily be published in the stream of news available to all your contacts. The idea always was that in exchange for the chance to win, you advertise the application and indirectly the brand itself. In other words, the application is self-advertising through you, and you do not mind as long as the hope to win that Small Kitchen Appliance is alive, right?
We will not make this post unnecessarily long to search more similarities – we haven’t wanted, we haven’t discovered them.
Now, if you have not yet joined the Facebook pentathlon, dig up in the news from friends as you do when searching for finds in auctions. But if you missed your chance, watch out for the next lucrative time – reasonable brands will continue to explore the Facebook platform for every occasion. The next one is to say … Saint Valentine’s Day?
P.S. Perhaps you recognized the examples for Facebook Christmas applications cited in the post. Be good to tip us if there are other games that we missed. However, we all enjoy unexpected Christmas gifts!

Coca Cola Light has celebrated 25 years in Spain in a special way
If you think that billboards have nothing to do with digital marketing and advertising you’re totally wrong. The proof is what Coca Cola Light has done for its 25th birthday in Spain this year. The company wanted to create something special in order to celebrate and share the moment with its 8 million consumers.
A banner from 15,000 bottles of light coke has been created in order to cover the facade of the Hotel Oscar Room Mate chain in Madrid. Even if this is a world record for the biggest billboard for Coca Cola Light the size is not the most important thing. More interesting and impressive is how the company used this to interact with people online.
In addition to the offline campaign Coca Cola launched an online interactive destination encouraging visitors to take a closer look at the banner using their webcam. They had the opportunity to choose a bottle they like, customize and design it in their own way and write why they’re fans of Diet Coke. To encourage the visitors to do so Coca Cola put many awards hidden in the bottles such as international travel trips to New York, Buenos Aires, Miami and Mexico.
The results are more than 15,000 creatively designed Coca-Cola bottles, great interaction with fans and lots of buzz over the internet. It’s not done by Euro RSCG but we like good job when it’s done well.————————————————————————————————————–

Martin Zhelyazkov
We got a brand new “journalist” in the house.
After a couple of years spent in Sofia, Martin joined us last week as the new copywriter in Euro RSCG 4D. During the day he is quiet in the office, either still absorbing information about our current projects or just writing, but at night we caught him being as noisy as hell rolling in the rhythm of the bars in Varna.
I stuck him in the lift with some questions and you are immensely welcome to check this out..
1. Do you still remember where you came from?
With so much travelling sometimes is hard to remember really. I was born and rised in Varna but for the past 5 years I was living in Sofia and if it wasn’t for Euro RSCG 4D I don’t know if I would have come back.
2. Why is your family name so hard to spell in English?
Ask the British – they are missing some of our letters in their alphabet. But it’s not really that hard to spell. If you want a challenge, try to spell “Rumpelstiltskin” or even to pronounce it inside-out “Nikstlitslepmur”.
3. So why does a nice looking guy like you want to work in advertising?
It’s challenging, interesting and brings you the opportunity to build something from nothing.
4. So, your position is a copywriter, right? What the hell is that?
Most of the people have no idea. They look pretty confused when they are asking me what I do and I tell them that I’m a copywriter. So the easiest way to explain it is this – copywriter is a writer who uses words to express an idea(s) and creative concepts in order to promote product, services and brands in general. Think of me as a content creator with a limitation of only 30 letter in Bulgarian (and 26 in English). My job here in 4D means much more – from social media management, blog posting to writing scripts for online videos and even computer games.
5. If you have a white wall available, what would be the first thing you will write on it?
Every writer is a god with the ability to create something…
6. What would you say to your boss if he is crazy about an idea but you think it stinks?
I’ll tell him it stinks and I’ll explain him why. There is no place for hiding the truth in marketing because the final results of your work always show it anyway. If people find something bad about a company and this thing concerns them, they will talk about it. One consumer can tell to several more and they can share with others. So the best thing you can do in marketing is to listen and if people have a point you can try see what you can improve. It’s not really that hard.
7. If you are a keyboard, are you going to be an ‘’enter’’ in this company or a ‘’space’’?
The bad thing is that being both is not enough. As a copywriter you need to be all the keys from the keyboards you can be. You can’t be just a “space” and an “enter”, words need to be put in the empty space and they are made from letters (and sometimes even numbers). It would be great if it was possible to express an idea only with blank pages but as a copywriter this is hardly ever the case.
8. Do you often talk to yourself?
I’m trying not to all the time because the best ideas come when you’re not thinking at all. The bad thing is that our mind is complex as it might be and it never shuts up. You can’t just say to it “Ok, stop talking right now, I need some quietness” because it’ll start shouting even more. But what you can do is to listen to yourself and your thoughts and wait for the next one to come.
9. Any substance abuses we should know about?
Books, adventures and travelling.
10. One tequila, two tequilas, three tequilas, floor…Do you mind if I take my shoes off?
But they are in your hands.
11. Mind, body or soul?
And shiny teeth are important.
12. Do you sing under the shower?
Nope, but I always play my guitar.
13. But enough about you. What about us?
Fresh, yummy and full with vitamins.
