Digital media

It’s a real life story.

Few days ago I was cleaning my desk’s drawers. There were mostly university papers, a vivid memory of my glorious youth. A thick paper piece grabbed my attention and I opened it. It was a research paper from the University of California, Berkley. The topic was “The Origins of Reputation: Behavior, Visibility, and Personality”.

As I started working for my current company, I became more and more interested in Digital Media. Most people see it as a way of spending your free time or to keep in touch with friends and family. Nevertheless, digital media is something way more than that. It’s a powerful tool which used wisely can control many social factors over a person, a group or a company. One of those factors is reputation.

We value our reputation a lot, perhaps even more than our health. Without a good reputation, a person can grow neither in professional nor in social aspect of his/her life.

A reputation is defined as the set of perceptions a community forms about personal qualities of one of its members (Bromley, 1993; Granovetter, 1975; Hogan, 1996). According to many theorists, reputations are most appropriately examined in communities that exist for extended periods of time and that allow members to share information about each other (Bromley, 1993; Emler, 1990, Nowak & Sigmund, 1998). If one pays closer attention to the definitions will notice something interesting. The words “community” and “members” are the key words in all definitions for reputation. And if we take a look at the social media like Facebook or Twitter, it is practically one big community with a lot of members.

Many people share 80% of their personal life in social media websites. But none actually considers how much influence has everything you put there on your personal reputation. Big companies spend a lot of money for social media, but they have professionals behind their backs that understand the psychology in it. Even celebrities have their own social media web pages driven by PR professionals.

Having a social media profile is a great responsibility. It can be a very powerful tool, but it can also ruin your own reputation. I recently read an article in one French website, explaining the connection between social media and alcohol and that it is not a very good combination. People are investing into developing security applications against your drunken self for the social media. And it is better they do. A simple post, visible from all your friends under the influence of alcohol can cause a major break into your reputation. Is it worth it, considering the option that future employers are checking your Facebook page immediately after you applied for job at their company.

At the end of the day, social media can be a lot of fun, and sure, it is a great way to keep in touch with your friends and family. But always keep in mind that it can put a block to your future development in case you mistakenly type the wrong keys and hit the “Share” button after a wild night in the club.————————————————————————————————————–

Put your 3D glasses on

The latest ad campaign I have seen really catched me by its creative media strategy so I am in a hurry to share the conception with you.
I am talking about the 3D campaign of Armani Exchange A/X for the Fall 2010 Collection.
The campaign consists of print, outdoor, music video and interactive online tool on the brand’s website. It is featured in major magazines such as ELLE, GQ, Glamour, Men’s Health, InStyle and others with exclusive, branded 3D glasses that allow people to see A/X print ads in 3D and also watch the online 3D music video that recreates the new image of the modern man and woman.
The campaign is also implemented on video screens in stores’ windows, in the top markets in USA and around the world.
It embodies several marketing trends such as exclusive content, entertainment and social networking that take the fashion marketing to the next level. The brand continues to develop unusual and modern approach to directly target the A/X generation.
In addition to “Armani”, “Gucci” have also announced interest to sell branded 3D glasses for use while watching the increasingly popular 3D developments.

3D from Euro RSCG 4D Bulgaria

You probably remember some of our first posts in this blog explaining the origins of Euro RSCG and the nature of the 4 “D” in our company name.

It’s natural for us but maybe not that obvious for the rest that to be good in 4D, we have to be also good in 3D! And yes, we are! :-)

When saying 3D, we mean everything – from 3D architectural interior and exterior visualizations through 3D multimedia presentations and product visualizations up to 3D interactive virtual reality.

The video is here to show you some examples of what Euro RSCG 4D Bulgaria can offer. Enjoy it!————————————————————————————————————–
